Aim: to investigate how light behaves when it hits a plane (flat) mirror

Method: 1. collect a ray box, power supply and single-slit ray slide from your teacher, and set them up to produce a single beam of light.

2. place a plane mirror on the diagram of the protractor as described below.

3. vary the angle of incidence and record the angle of reflection in the results table.


Results: the angle of incidence is the same as the angle of reflection

This is my static image above and my commentary below.

Static Image Commentary

My static image portrays the idea that Martha is locked in the attic and she is calling for help because her dad has locked her in there as disobeyed the rules. They are frightened that she going to tell the family secret.  

The visual elements include a dominant image of old stairs leading into a dark room. This represents the stairs leading up to the attic to Martha’s room. I made it three dimensional so it’s eye-catching.  The stairway is all dark and gloomy which represents Martha ’s boring life. She is not allowed clothes from the shops and her mum makes them. She isn’t allowed friends over.

I have used the colors black with a little white The black represents Martha being rebellious. It also shows aggression as her dad hits her and locked her in her room. It also represents fear, as it is fear of her father and fear that her parents might see the sign and she will never get free from them. as they represent a dark room (attic). The small bits of white represent that there is a little bit of hope as Scott may find her sister and rescue Martha.

The quotation  I have chosen is ‘I’m locked in the attic, help, tell the police. It is relevant to my image because Martha was locked in her room and needed help. The quotation is in green as the color green has healing power and growth as when Martha is rescued she will be free and be able to heal all her past hurts and have new growth.

Today in English i was on readtheory I keep going up and down in the grades. but I keep going up in process levels. but i sometimes i get the quizes right and wrong. readthoery is fun to go on and lean on

Today in English for sustained silent reading I was reading about unbelievable facts. the site I was reading off is fact slides it is made for all ages. 

on factslides you can pick all the facts at the bottom you want to read about like facts of the day is cool to read. 

one of the facts I was cotton candy was invented by a dentist that is on unbelievable facts I will  do the lick at the bottom for people that want to go have a look at factslides.

Today in English I was back on factslides and back on facts of the day with facts of the day the next day they are new one on the slide.


I  seen a fact that i did not know about it is that kolas store  leaves in their cheek pouches to eat them later.


I seen different fact that i did not know about it's impossible to sneeze while sleeping.


I found anther fact that i did not know about is beer cans in japan  have braille on them so blind people don't confuse alcoholic drinks with soft drinks.

I have a different one about kolas There were over 10 million koalas before British settlersarrived in Australia. Now, there are around 43,000 in the wild.

Today in English I was on Stuff site and I read about a waikato tractor driver  clocked almost 200 hours in  the two weeks before his death. 

An agricultural company was sentenced at the Huntly District Court after one of its workers died in a tractor crash after clocking up a 17 hour work day (file photo).

A North Waikato tractor driver was so tired after a 200 hour working fortnight he drove off the road to his death.

The Micheal​ Vining Contracting Ltd worker clocked up 197.25 hours in the two weeks leading up to the crash.

In October 2016, the driver was helping with harvesting operations on a farm in Pukekawa. He logged a 16.75 hour day before leaving the farm, taking a tractor home in preparation for the next day's work.

At 2.45am he crashed the tractor and died as a result of his injuries. The driver was also not wearing a seatbelt.

A WorkSafe investigation found that fatigue was the most likely cause of the accident. 

The agricultural company was sentenced in the Huntly District Court.

"Getting the job done is important, but not if the hours required to do it put workers at risk of injury or death," WorkSafe Deputy General Manager, Investigations and Specialist Services, Simon Humphries, said in a statement. 

The company had a health and safety document prepared for them in January 2016, Humphries said.

It identified fatigue as a high-rating hazard and outlined management steps including the monitoring of work hours and break times.

"This document had not been reviewed or implemented. The warning was there and the company did nothing about it.

"Seasonal work and tasks like harvest can put a huge amount of pressure on everyone involved.  Managing the risks is essential. The life, health and wellbeing of your workers must be your number one priority".

Micheal​ Vining Contracting Ltd was charged with failing to ensure, so far as was reasonably practicable, the health and safety of its workers.

The company was fined $10,000, however, the court indicated that a $325,000 was appropriate. Reasons why this amount was not imposed was suppressed by the court. 

Reparation of $80,000 and costs of $2656.50 were ordered
